DFC is an independent private firm of consultants, whose original and major specialisation is the development of the financial sector in emerging economies. The company is privately owned, based in Barcelona, and with extensive project references in advising the international financial sector including strategic and institutional aspects, public finance, assistance to the banks, sector policy issues, access to finance, organisation creation, capacity building and evaluation.
DFC was founded in 1980 in response to a growing demand for expertise from the banking sector, financial institutions, governments and international agencies. Today, the company’s aim is to propose specialised expertise with advanced solutions for the different stages of the project or investment cycle from identification, preparation, through implementation and up to evaluation stage taking into account the specificity of each situation and the complexity of global integration.
Since inception we have carried over 800 projects in our areas of activity, in 150 countries and for over 100 clients among multlateral and bilateral institutions, governments, supervisory institutions, financial institutions, banks and foundations.
Since 2005, DFC has led various consortia of companies under the scheme of the EU-funded Framework Contracts in sectors such as trade and private sector development (FWC BENEF 2005 and 2009- Lot 10), macroeconomics and public finance (FWC BENEF 2005, 2009 and 2013 - Lot 11). Overall DFC has implemented over 285 FWC assignments within the last 15 years.
Since January 2014, DFC is implementing and managing, as Lead Contractor, the FWC BENEF 2013.-Europe Aid /132633/C/SER/multi. Lot 11:Macroeconomy,Statistics and Public finance Management.
